Jennifer Chiu is an award-winning, -year veteran in the online media and web development industries.

Her online media / web development career began with About.com (formerly known as The Mining Company) in 1997, working "underground" with the founders of the company to develop and implement a unique technological business model. Soon after launching the company and its web presence, Jennifer left About.com to join M. Shanken Communications, Inc., publisher of the popular, niche consumer magazines Wine Spectator and Cigar Aficionado, to develope the online version of the publications.

For three years, she was the lead front-end developer for Wine Spectator Online (winespectator.com) and Cigar Aficionado Online (cigaraficionado.com). Her collaborative work at the magazine publisher earned the prestigious National Magazine Award, General Excellence in New Media for Cigar Aficionado Online in 1999.

Jennifer left the publishing company at the beginning of the new millennium to found her own enterprise, JC HyperActive Studio. She has also worked extensively with advertising agencies developing web applications for entertainment conglomerates, business-to-business companies, and consumer retailers.

Jennifer holds a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Queens College, City University of New York. As well, she received extensive training in classical and studio fine art, commercial art, and graphic design.
